Default Move the accelerator, more room!

Hi all
I submitted. this once drunk years ago and made a hash of it, so I'll try again.

I was disturbed by how close to the steering wheel the seat is, and noticed that the throttle is 'fly-by-wire' so can be moved anywhere.
So I made up a 4"by2" wooden test-jig, and when it proved to work fine replaced it with some metal box section.

This brings it out to near level with the brake pedal. Now you can have your seat further back so the drivers seat feels a lot roomier, which is good for long trips.

Very clever. Could a non technical, non handyman (me) do this?. I just had a look at mine. Is it as simple as unplugging the electrical thingy and undoing fixtures from the firewall? Both my wife and I are "tall challenged". Regards, Andrew

Default Accelerator Pedal

Yes mate

-Unbolt it from the floor, unclip the "throttle cable"
-take the throttle to your workbench
-it is in two parts so separate them
(I had a bit of 4X2 pine in there for years as a test jig)
-screw your spacer (wood) to both sides so it fits in the groove
-wack it back in the car and plug it back in
-Drive around in luxury and comfort.

I've had mine in for eight years now with no hassles

You have me itching to do it again now. But I have a roof rack to finish installing... when it drops below 40DegC!
