Default Adventure Kings Awning

Anybody got one of the Adventure Kings Awnings? What do you think of it? They are now down to $99 and while I was looking at one of the higher quality brands, it's pretty hard to go past that price even if they are cheap crap given I could buy 3 of them for the same price as a supapeg/arb/ironman.

I used one while doing a 4WD trip at the snow recently and it worked fine, even while snowing and a bit of wind...

I've made a few stiffener brackets up for the out rigger poles.
This gives heaps more strength at the attachment points.
Using a 120mm peice of 80x40 x3mm RHS alloy.
Spltting it up the middle to make 40 x 30mm ( approximately)
Remove the outer plastic end cap. And poles.
Measure in on the middle 0.9mm fin the length. (120mm) cut on the line with tin snips . Then cut every 15mm back to to end , then simply break the biscuits of with you fingers. Deburr break line , even a good sharp wood chisel will work. Remove any existing rivets in this area.
Fit The C channel in place . You can know see the original bolt pin position. Mark and out to 6mm from above or below, depending on what end you start with. Copy the hole position to the bottom/ top end.
Two 4.8mm SS or alloy rivets can fitted on the outer edge of the pivot.
And 6 more on the inner face. Keeping clear of the closure contact points.
6mm SS mud guard washers will need to pack the small air gap difference.
Also fit another rivet near opposite into the pole on the knuckle.
2 longer 6m SS button head bolts will be needed.
50mm ?
Nip up till firm.
Will try to upload pics later.

I had a 2x3m on my WJ and the WK2 for years, has been through many adventures, held up fine to howling wind, rain, all sorts. I recently got rid of it after my Simpson trip as it was just a tad too long for the WK2 and I could see the sucker flexing around alot.
My plan when my new rack finally rocks up is to go with one of the rea awnings, 1.4 x2m and use an awning wall for extra room. I saw this size used on a ute recently and it was alright, not the coverage like my mates Foxwing, but light and small.
