I'm tempted to run 33's, will see how the guard clearance is when I replace the flares with flatties

Still very happy with it. Have fitted the flat-flares and it definitely needs some bigger tyres. Either that, or I need to lower it an inch
Just got home from a 2000km trip to Sydney and back to Melbourne via Nowra, and it ran flawlessly. Have recently re-installed the A/C as well as an auxiliary fuel tank, and that was a life-saver. Got roughly 15L/100km both ways, towing an empty box trailer up and then a loaded box trailer home. Sat on 105km/h with Cruise control, left it in O/D (probably not ideal, but that's why I've now got a spare motor and auto box) and dropped it back to 3rd on the uphill sections. Didn't overheat once, in fact the hottest it got was 105C (measured by OBD2 interface) just south of Albury. That was with the A/C on up a hill in 40C ambient, so I'm pretty happy with that.

Nice to see a good result after all that work. I read somewhere that the sweet spot for economy & efficiency in the 4.0l is between 2100 & 2600 rpm, so with 4.56 gears you're probably near the middle of that rev range, assuming you have about a 32" tyre. Keep us informed of progress please mate.

Spot on, with the 32's and 4.56 ratio it sits at 2400rpm at 105km/h. Need to get a new Speedo gear to correct the readout as it's about 10% over actual speed. Speedo I'm not fussy about, but the odometer is 12% too fast which is frustrating.
