Agree Wooders. My main concern was that the rego couldn't be transferred to a new owner and/or the vehicle be "sourced" from my premises.

Yeah - I've been the target of similar scams.

I was selling my CBR954 Fireblade on bikepoint, and somebody from Itally (same country - national dodgy vehicle-swindling ring?) said that upon his people comming and crating my bike, without them even seeing it, he would deposit the full asking price into me bank account... all i had to do was give him my address and my bank account details!!!

Now I consider myself a nice person, but I more or less told the guy to give me th cash up front, use a money handling service, or get the **** away from me... never heard from him again.

Upon telling bikepoint what was going on I was advised that there was nothing they could do.

I've been bidding on cars on ebay lately, and have been copping some interesting scams.

Some guy looks for the second highest bidder after an auction has ended, and offers them the car, saying the first buyer pulled out. All you have to do is deposit the cash into my account, blah blah blah. The email address it comes from looks just like the username of the seller.

Only problem is, they buggered up the link to the item. Pretty good trick tho.

you give them a couple of hundred deposit and it costs $156 in a court application to get it back.

I think it's great that you're all giving this kind of information out. I'de rather learn by example than personally.

Cheers
