I'm no expert on water crossings - what is the logic behind roping vehicles together when crossing?
I would have thought that would create more problems

Less likely to float down stream if you are already attached to the opposite bank.

the rivers have been flowing pretty high the last couple of weeks in the high country after some heave rainfall, and I myself know of one car that got washed downstream near jamieson 2 weeks ago. I went out with Acko 2 weeks ago and crossing the Rawson creek was fun. this was a mix of ausjeep & 4x4 earth members.

the first segment is my jeep crossing the creek, and you can see how the water was pushing the rear end across. (I also love the "holy shit" comment )

There some crazy crossings there. FT my Jeep would never make it. I have thought about using a rope and another vehicle to pull me through if I ever come across deep water like that as my petrol XJ will stall once the coil gets flooded.

Regards A

I waded half way across the creek and it was not too bad ( except bloody cold) it was the second half that dropped away a bit just before the bank.

The "holy shit" couple elected immediately to get snatched across by a jacked up Pootrool.

All other vehicles made it without any real issues.

The other crossings were pretty easy really, although I did manage to get hung up on a rock on an easy one and had to get winched free.
