Based on the answer today, I'll decide which manager at Jeep Australia is going to get my phone call. I'm going to ask (demand?) that they remove the parts from a stock vehicle and get mine back on the road if its going to take too long.

Looks like I'll be discussing my Jeep with the MD of Jeep Australia tomorrow

From anyone's experiences what is the reliability like?
Is there anything i need to specifically watch out for? Even just model specific?
I have searched through a few jeep forums and haven't really found anything or anyone who has had a big issue with the 2.8L CRD motors?!?!?
Any help appreciated.

like others have stated the VM 2.8 is a cracker of a motor !! I've done 180,000 now and the engine has given me zero issues. I use a mate for oil changes and I'm shocked that its has littllest oil consuption of any motor I've owned in 20years. Performance is good as is economy.

Thank God.!!
I'm new to the site (Jeep) as I have just traded my 03 TD5 Disco in for a 4 door CRD 2010 one of the last ones left. The main reason for trading was because I was spending about $500 every 4-6 weeks on fixing the Disco and got to a point where the misses was driving me mad. So its good to read that they have been fairly good. Better to spend the $500 every 4-6 weeks on new mods...

Not a big cost either way, the turbo hoses can also blow and $300 will get a set of Samco silicone hoses that will last forever.
It really is an awesome little motor that just keeps on giving.
I'm sure everyone on any Jeep forum will agree that once a Jeep owner.....
Good luck and happy days ahead in which ever Jeep you buy!

Do you know where you can buy these hoses.
