No Reversing lights

Hi All,

Just had an ongoing problem with the reversing light deciding not to work and chased around looking all over for the problem with everyone suggesting solenoids to selector unit etc etc.

In the lights of sharing knowledge (and saving you a lot of money) i found a thread in the US where eventually someone found a common problem in the large multi-pin connector that plugs into the side of the transmission housing behind the selector arm. If you pull back on the locking clip and swing it down and around against the trans housing (it took me a while to figure this out too) you will find the connector plug will slide up for removal. if your lights now come on at this point (without removing the connector) you may find that a cleaning of the connector plug terminals will be the hidden problem.(Move it around while someone is out back checking the lights)

Just thought i'd share as it was causing me grief and was about to spend money on more expensive solutions. Woops and forgot to ad that its a 4.7litre V8
