I think i am starting to push the weight limit on my camper ( with no brakes) where would the best place be to purchase the components for mechanical brakes , and what will i need

I don't see why not, there are plenty of over-ride braked trailers running around that have that much slack in the cable that they don't work at all when fully compressed, so what's the diff if there was no cable there?
