Default wanted KJ CRD 2.8 piston & liner.

To the KJ CRD 2.8 Gods out there.
Looking at my options for a rebuild.
The block is a relatively easy fix. I can weld the bit of casting back in the block.
Would need a piston & liner. Don't want to replace all 4 with new. Just good second hand would be fine.
The motor is a late one ~ 2006/7 so very early ones would be no good. I believe they had different pistons/rings.
Is there any one out there with a blown up 2.8 CRD lying around that I could salvage a piston & liner from?

Please let me know what you have.

It appears there are no aftermarket non genuine piston rings available. Can anyone confirm this?

Not sure about second hand parts.

Here's what I found at IDparts

Thanks cmohr. They don't do second hand parts. Was hoping that some one had a blown engine that I could get piston & liner from & then fit a new set of rings.

I have found a piston/rod in Germany, waiting to hear if they have the liner to go with it. Would rather one in Australia.

If your going to go through all the tear down process to get to one cylinder, it is best to do the full rebuild. Rebuild kits are available, IDParts or VM Specialist UK are two sources.

In an ideal world that is what I would do.
Given the cost of a full rebuild with new pistons, liners, rings, bearings, valves, gaskets, etc, its not going to happen. I have recently read through the thread by Dean on LOSTJEEPS, a 5hr exercise, he has been rebuilding his for just on a year. Not all new parts. When I get the engine out & the head & sump off, it will be decision time. If the head is damaged from a dropped valve like Dean's, it will probably be a replacement engine.
