Pulled into TNT on the southside of brisbane today and the car started running a little rough and then snuffed out.. tap tap on the fuel tank and sure enough she's empty. Looked at the fuel guage and funly enough 1/4 tank to go, check the trip computer and 180kms to go too... hmmm looks like the sender unit is up the duff... RACQ generously donated me 10l of the oily fluid to get to the servo (and migh I add they restarted the car with petrol much to my pleads of please don't).
So...
I've chased up as much literature on the diesel fuel pump sender as I can (it's in short supply)
Is it true that you have to drop the tank to get to the fuel sender unit (at work right now but planning to do it on the weekend so can't poke around in the car) ?
