Took it 4wding Finally!!

All went well except the car shut its self off a few time, think it may be from over heating, no sure, doesnt like starting again to easily, any ideas? also the ARB is an AIR LEACKER, wouldnt hold pressure so have to find the leak, and a few new noises of course, think it may be the new gears wearing in?

Other then that went good

few pics

oh and found this

driver side upper control mount has a tare in it

Raised the rear of the bonnet using washers, and pulled apart the front clip to wash out the radiator properly, which despite being hit with the high pressure hose a few times at the car wash was still half full of mud!

Temperature now sits about 85-90 on the road, and didn't go over 100 even sitting idling for half an hour in the driveway.

The real test will be towing on a hot day, but so far, massive improvement!

On my lunch break today I decided to give the XJ a 2" lift.... by removing the factory side steps. When I arrived at work a nice surprise awaited. Springs from Dobinsons had arrived on my day off now just waiting on 4 new Rancho RS5000's to show up hopefully Tuesday. I think the new leaves will make a bit of a difference compared to the one's on there atm (see last pic).

Took it down "Tea Tree Track" in bunyip state forest.....wont be doing that in a stock XJ again. On the upside, it amazed me yet again with just how tough it is. Bring on the 2" lift and 30" muddies!
