SCJC is down to a core group of about 7 - lost an equal number or more of members lately who have moved away or had other comittments - we're pushed to do our own JAD plus Farm Fantasic Events - but el Presidento is looking into it

I think a couple of clubs trying to co-ordinate a Jambo together would be a absolute debacle and would probably fall apart before it started. Not saying other clubs can't help out but 1 club needs to step up take the challenge and sort out the logistics afterwards.

We ran a Jambo in 7 months. 5 club members ran the management, co-ordination, admin and general running of the Jambo. We had around 20 active members to help clear tracks, take up trip leading and run on site events etc. We called upon the Jeep club of NSW to help clear tracks and help trip lead (you only really need a trip leader that know what he is doing and on most trips excluding the hard core tracks anyone can really go tail end and willingly most people will even if you don't know them lol). The event itself we also called upon the Sydney Jeep club to help out with on site events such as the travel ramp - without the willingness of these clubs we would not have had the manpower. Some of our club members and that of the Jeep Club of NSW literally spent months up the Watagan mountains clearing tracks.

So even if the club is small - with 2 years of planning and management it would be a success....

A small club can run a Jambo, just pick an area you already know well and if possible are local to. Our canteen was run by the show ground committee, nothing to do with SJC, this meant it was run well (these guys new what they were doing) and it got the community involved and committed to the event. When we needed machinery for the onsite track they helpled us out as they were committed to a successful Jambo as much as we were.

If it helps we can pass on all our budget and expenses details to the next club as well as a write up on what worked and what didn't. We want to make sure there is another Jambo, worst case scenario we'd run it again just to keep it alive

As an aside the Friday saw over 200 Jeeps signed up for trips, this is where a lot of your resources will go and your trip leaders need to really know the tracks.

Cheers
Steve

True but I can get myself in enough trouble as it is.
