Yeah, sorry, it appears that physically the mount face is oriented differently, the KJ CRD part number is 05142601AA.

If you look at this JK one for sale on ebay UK you will see the difference is in the mounting attitude and the way the inlet port points. Functionally I think they are the same: sealed units, sensor in the side and the outlet ports.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOPAR-THER...-/271173067273

I think they are actually made by Behr tronik in Germany, but George at VM Specialist UK should have them or be able to get them.

Could you drill it out, I don't know.

I have a spare KJ thermostat as a contingency for the day I need it, and maybe JK CRD owners need to consider holding this in their parts box for the day they need it or change it at some regular interval before it goes, as they all do eventually.

Cheers for all the good info guys!!

Spose if i can fix it myself cheaply quickly I might do it. But really need to work out is it blocked rad, stuffed thermostat or faulty water pump.

As much as I want to save the coin I want it fixed ASAP as its my daily driver

Water pumps rarely fail, but they can develop seal leaks which is why the get replaced over time. Even if your pump impeller was eroded it would still move coolant but with less pressure. Pumps are usually replaced when a timing belt change is done but only on the second belt change so they should be good for 200,000 kms.

OK might check radiator for flow this arvo then check options for thermostat housing.

Thanks for the link on ebay also found this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261185534...84.m1423.l2649 which is only $45 compared to the $200 most others are approx. Seems suspect??!!??

If it's a water pump impeller most the time the heater has poor circulation and doesn't get hot , test ya heater that's a little cheat to sus a bad impeller , hmmm radiator internally blocked would only be the other option if it had a cool side to the radiator like he first said and that is highly unlikely due to age of the truck ,, I'd put money into a new thermostats befor jerking around anymore.

It's not this hard

Nop. I bought the accs belt tensioner cheap from them. They just sell VM Motori parts, not Chrysler parts that's why it's cheap. They smartly cross reference VM parts for OEM numbers.

Ok so replaced thermo stat, viscous hub, checked flow thro of radiator and flushed system AND ITS STILL BLOODY OVERHEATING!!!!

Guess all thats left is the water pump!!??!!

Anyone know whats involved in changing a water pump on the JK Diesel?

Being that the timing belt is almost due should I just buy a new belt and pump and get them installed at the stealership??
