JEEP Quality Servicing
Am I being unreasonable?
I am pretty annoyed. Especially after all the trouble I had with my last Jeep Dealership service ( http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...ad.php?t=52575) not that I was the only one ( http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...d.php?t=56995).

Sir,
On Friday last, I brought by Wrangler in for it's 36,000 km service.
I was happy to take your advice that the tailshaft needs modification due to my lift kit.
I was unhappy, however, to later find that during your servicing, it appears my front wheel alignment has been significantly altered, such that I have a NEW STEERING WOBBLE at 55-65km/h after the service. It is easily noticable, and was very certainly NOT there before bringing the car to you. Indeed, while one might expect some driveline vibration due to my rear uni joint, you admitted and I agreed that it was NOT noticable due to the mud tyres I have on the vehicle. If the current wobble IS due to the driveline, which I admit is possible (although it feels like wheel alignment to me) then this too was caused by your servicing, as it was not at all apparent prior to bring the vehicle to you.
I took the opportunity to have a look at my own rear uni joint, which you correctly pointed out is in bad shape. I was very displeased, however, to find that 2 of the bolts which hold it together were so loose that I could tighten them with my fingers. (see attached picture - the bolts in question are in the yellow circles).
I have tightened them with a spanner myself, and found them to stay tight, which means that you must have left them loose during the service.
Were it an ordinary service, missing 2 loose nuts might have been forgivable. But considering I informed you of a driveline squeaking noise, and you obviously took some time examining my driveline, and you looked closely enough at it to have seen the wear in the uni joint that these bolts are on... it seems impossible you could have failed to notice 2 obviously loose bolts such as these. It may be that you dismantled my uni joint and when putting it back together failed to tighten them, or it may be that they were somehow overlooked. Either way, this is unacceptable, as I'm sure you will agree.
I have every intention of taking the vehicle to an offroad specialist as suggested, and having my drivetrain altered to better suit my lift kit. Indeed, I would have the vehicle serviced by a specialist IF I COULD without voiding the warranty on the the unmodified portion of the vehicle. I brought my vehicle in for service with a loose hand brake and a driveline squeak, and drove it away with a loose handbreak, a driveline squeak, a loosely bolted uni joint, and a significant steering wobble.
Perhaps someone would like to contact me to explain why it has more wrong with it after you have serviced it than before. |

Get it Serviced at USA4x4 and you won´t have loose bolts.
They do a fantastic job not like the Jeep dealerships.

hehehe....that's Jeep service for ya. They made me dislike the brand JEEP because it's so much hassle to deal with the stealerships.

man you guys have some drama's.. the dealership I use here have been nothing less than excellent with the work they have been allowed do to my jeep.
Not saying they are perfect.. but they seem to be perfect, compared to what Ive read about the dealerships down that way.
