Rancho 5000 vs OME N35C valving question?
After 100,000km, I am definitely in need of some new shockies for my XJ Cherokee. I've also found out I have heavy duty shocks fitted, OME N35 front and N36 rear, which are a bit overkill for a Cherokee's weight. It's OK with a full touring load on but pretty harsh when empty around town so I'm thinking of fitting some slightly softer shocks instead. The OME N35C and N36C shocks are fine but I would like some adjustablity in the rear for when I do have a load on.
So it comes down to Rancho 9000's up the back and either OME N35C's or Rancho 5000's up front. Any issues with mixing shock brands front and rear? Does anyone have any experience with N35C's and 5000's? Are they valved similarily or is one softer/harsher than the other? I've weighed the Jeep loaded and unloaded and ALL of the additional weight is over the rear axle so I don't think I would need adjustables on the front and I will save me about $140 if I stick with non-adjustables on the front.
I've read all the threads I can find about this by the way and haven't found a comparison between Ranchos and OME but everyone who has either raves about them. I've got 930 heavy duty coils on the front and JC2A/B leafs on the rear with an extra OME AAL too.
Cheers,
HB
