Want to know what benefits there are to buying adjustable lower lcas. Do you adjust them yourself (based on what?) or does it just make alignment an easier job for the mechanic. Interested to know what articulation benefits you get and why, over the standard lca's

Cheers

dont know about articulation...i think most people get them for adjusting drive line angles etc too stop vibes...some of the LCA do swivel and would help flex

I also think that because of the short length of the stock control arms the more lift you have the more it pulls the axle out of position. So the longer adjustable arms are used to correct this too. And yes they flex alot better as well.

correct me if im worng, but as i understand...
adj. LCA allows you to lengthen to accomodate the lift, as steve said, the higher you go, the more the axles moves towards the center of the vehicle, adj. lca will help to move the axle closer to the original position, but only rotates the axle forward slightly, i presume to move the whole axle to the correct position with correct caster angles, you might want to put longer/adj uppers as well.
other beneifts from the longer LCA's is they will correct or bring the caster angle closer to standard.
when the axle articulates, it will apply a torsional force onto the LCA & UCS, and with the adj. CA's the screw threads will turn and take away most of the forces instead of acting against like the OME ones.
the bushes on the after markets CA's should have a more flexible material then the OME ones, so that it allows more flex in the bushes. eg. RE arms has ball joints in them to allow unrestricted movements.
tata

ps. say you today (saturday) with the new tops.... in boxes... on south downing street, at a traffic lights next to moore park home center, i honked, but dont think you took notice of it...

Thanks for that guys, thats made it clearer.
Billsta, didn't see ya!. Heard lots of honking though  :D I was trying to concentrate on whether the stuff in the back was falling out!.
Basic pickup top is now on as is the new soundbar (minus speakers the moment) but I'm a little confused over how it becomes a frameless top. Lack of instructions didn't help
