Default Radio Code

Recently bought a 2004 Grand Cherokee Laredo. Unfortunately the radio security code did not come with the vehicle. The manual states that if I disconnect the battery I will need the code to re-activate the radio.

I have contacted my local Jeep Dealership who were not very helpful.

Does anyone have the direct contact details for Jeep or Chrysler Australia?

Or any other suggestions?

Default Dealer advice

I recently bought a 2005 TJ and saw exactly the same not in my handbook.

Called the dealer, he said that the code wasn't used in Australia.

I called the dealer in Osborene park, I'd give em a ring (have your VIN handy just in case).

I have an 06 TJ and worried about this too. I have just replaced my battery and finished wiring a winch in at the same time. Went through every book/manual that came with the Jeep and no trace of the radio code written anywhere.

Took a chance and when I turned everything back on the radio asked for a code. Didn't like that so I turned the radio off. When I turned it back on a few seconds later the request for a code was gone.

I'm was happy with that.

Hi MrG and thanks for the comment.

My radio manual refers to the code being printed on a card at the start of the manual. The location shows that a perforated section has been removed, I assume this was the card with the code on it. As the vehicle is in showroom and original condition. At this stage I don't want to take a risk of loosing the radio by disconnecting the battery to just to find out.

I have also been trying to locate an email address for Chrysler Australia Head Office, but that is pretty elusive also. Plenty of independent dealers listed but not the main supplier.

The code should be 0000
