She said that the dealers are doing them in batches and they are only looking at 07 - 09 models at the moment and can't understand why FCA are still sending out letters.

Apparently I was the 4th person this week asking.

So now I just wait and hope that my wife doesn't require an airbag if we crash.
Call the 1300 number & ask them about it. Maybe they can bump you up the list if you keep hassling them?

As for the requiring an airbag, or more to the point, avoiding a Claymore... I disconnected it. I'm not worried about my driving, btu if someone else screws up badly enough, there just isn't anything you can do to avoid it. Yes, it makes it technically unroadworthy because a "safety" feature has been disconnected, but I'm not worried about that.

I'm booked in for Nov 15 now. So they can inspect my horn to see why it only works when cornering then, as well... I wonder if it has anything to do with the clockspring they replaced in the last recall?

She actually suggested that I do that but it was to try and stop them from continually bombarding me with letters. It even got to the point where FCA were sending them registered mail to make sure I was getting them.

By the sounds of it, the dealer was as frustrated as I was because they are the poor buggers that are dealing with us owners that are sick of waiting.

I still need the heated mirror and clockspring recalls done but it's pointless getting them done individually.

I agree. I thought they were going to do both when they booked me in the first time, but that was just the inspetion to see if they were required, Then when they said they had the parts, I thought it was for both but it turned out they only had the clockspring in. And it's broken now...

I agree but it should not that way... as this car should be safe and able to protect the passenger from serious injuries or worst to death.

True, but to give FCA their due, the airbag problem isn't their fault. They bought them from Takata in good faith.

To a great extent, the same goes for sourcing the replacements. They are dependent on the manufacturers making them available, and since Takata went into receivership...

I heard a rumor that to fix all the JK recalls Jeep are producing a JL Wrangler...... of course to fix the JL's almost certain faults they'll need to produce a JM and so on

I was going to say exactly the same thing.

This is not Jeep's or FCAs fault. This recall has affected nearly every car maker and millions of cars worldwide. There was never going to be a quick fix to this and it will be a problem for years to come.
