why were you told you cant put air bags in them .... i have ppm 2inch lift and i am going to put air bags in ... cant see why not
had air bags in the ome springs but they are to wide to fit my ppm spring. ppm are narrower...
airbag do a listing for 2 inch lift 100mm diameter...
if you have a bigger lift say 4.5 you mite have to space it out

Default Air bags

Firestone make several sets for the JK, for the 100-105mm ID coils to fit the PPM coils, and a larger set to fit the likes of OME etc. In the 100 - 105mm ID bags, they make 2 sets, standard height and the 2". You can also get a 15mm and 30mm spacer on top for up to 3" height. I just measured the height of my 2" Firestone bags not 2 hours ago to see if i should fit the spacer or not.
I used these bags in the PPM coils when i had them.
Apparently airbags have a lessor effect on tightly wound coils such as PPM, as they work by bulging between the coils, the closer the coils, the less the bulge. but i had them on the PPm coils and they worked just fine.

The best way to pinch a bag and put a hole in it is if the bags bulge between the coils. They should contact the chassis and axle to support the vehicle not bulge between the coils.
I would really like to hear where you got your info from.

airbags are ment to bulge out, they dont get pinched because you are ment to run a certain amount of air in them .so they dont pinch ..

Default Airbags

Exactly Steve
Airbags do not work by taking the weight of your vehicle vertically, but by putting pressure on the coils, and bulging between the coils, making it more difficult for the coils to compress effectively increasing their rating. They are only suppose to bulge about 5mm - 10mm (or something) into the coil.

Interested in Bill's opinion here. I'm pretty sure he was the opinion I had that bags were not appropriate / suitable for PPM progressive springs. I have a 4.5" lift. Do bags stuff up your flex / wheeling ability?
