A towbar airbag would be excellent - popping up just before I bang my shins. I like it [emoji12]

Apparently there is some recall about the towbar.

No idea what, but they found it when they checked the VIN against the computer list of applicable recalls.

I took my '07 JK in for clockspring recall and they said my towbar recall wasn't applicable because I had a genuine towbar??...didn't make sense to me but I do have a Bolt and Nyloc nut instead of Pin and Clip holding the tongue in, maybe she was confused??

There is a 2007-2008 US recall for Mopar tow bars but since ours are supplied by Best Bars in New Zealand I would be surprised if it affects us.

Booked mine in today at FCA Five Dock - 6 weeks is the earliest i can get in! They are clearly very concerned with my safety...

Said there are 3 other recalls they need to do as well, towbar, passanger airbag and the inner fenders (think this is where they trim the inner fender off the brake lines with a Stanley knife).

I wouldn't have bothered to be honest but I'm on my 3rd clockspring and it's about 18 month old, so probably living on borrowed time. Save me a few bucks I suppose.

Wonder if they will reimburse me for the last 2...

Trimming the inner fenders for break lines was a recall years ago !
Even after getting mine done, drivers side still rubbed the pipe through as it was detached from the holding bracket and had been connecting with the inner plastic.

Luckily for me it popped when installing new caliper & break line and not on motorway

Got copper pipe fitted
