Yes, the car has 2 water pumps for cooling installed in the one system, now when roadside assistance came out to try and see if they could solve the problem they said that there was no power two the secondary water pump/that he reckons that it is not working.
Now if that is correct and the secondary pump is not working in the system do you think that'll be enough to reduce/stop the water flow and be the cause of the over heating issue?
When i looked around i did not find any loose hoses or see and visible hose leaks or leaks in the radiator itself.

Hmm, it’s not all that uncommon to use an electric pump, if you pull the engine pump you may find it’s been gutted and they’ve used the electric as an alternative. So yes, it would affect your ability to cool. Add 12V direct to the pump leads to see if the pump itself is working, if it is the relay that powers it, or the thermostat that activates it has probably failed. Even if the engine pump is functional, the non-functional electric one would interfere with the flow so yes, you will need to sort the electric pump out
