I've updated my post above with unloaded spring retainer strap pics.

Here they are again.

Fully weighted.

Fully unloaded/extended, with 3" gaps from top of spring to top rubber isolator.

I changed the tie rod ends to MOOG, the cheapest I could find locally lasted 30.000 km. Hopefully MOOGs will last more.

Found out that the steering box is shot (won't turn completely to the right).

Started with wet sanding them down to 1500, then polish with the oribital, then hand polish. Don't know how long they will last this time, I did them not too long ago but not as well, this time they had fairly deep scratches in them, I think the sand and other shit flying into them while behind other cars on the dirt wrecks them pretty quick.

Oracal and 3M make clear protection films. Check to see if they also protect against UV rays.

Post Got bored tonight.

Took out the front diff.

I'm rotating the knuckles back so it can have perfect pinion alignment and correct caster.

Might relocate the right side coil mount. Have to think about it more.

Bought 4 new summer tires (Nokian zLine SUV) and had an alignment done.
Now to figure what tire to buy that can deal with a bit of mud and winter conditions here as I don't want 3 sets of tires (summer, winter and mud). General Grabber AT2 seems to fit the bill, 225/75R16 is not too dear and will fit.

I finished with the second battery tray today, I made up a couple of brackets and have 2 sitting on some urethane bushings that I had left over from a suspension kit on a MR2 years ago to give it a little flex. I have read stories of the mounts tearing the sheet metal so I though I would play it safe.
Also was bored and bought a can of the ricer Plastic rubber in a can stuff, painted my badges, the old peeling chrome was annoying me, and painted my grille, twice, as I bodged the first one, the stuff easily peels off once dry when you pick at an edge.

well not bigger than a 50 cent piece , so STUFF IT it can stay.
