Default Factory Towbar on MY14+

Done a bit of searching of fitting the mopar towbar but only seems to be discussed on earlier models. I am looking at getting a factory towbar and fitting it myself. I have a MY15 limited but wondering if anyone has tried it on a MY14+ and does anyone have a copy of the fitting instructions so I can have a look. I am pretty confident with the spanners so figure it can't be too hard.

Just the cutout for the hitch would be the only hard thing I would of thought but most factory stuff I have fitted over the years comes with templates so surely it's not that hard.

Figure dealers will want to charge $500 or something so is a big saving doing it myself.

Done two of these now. Any questions just shoot me a message. I've detailed notes on the electrical side... it's in the Garage, and includes disabling the reverse sensors and tapping into the Uconnect display for a trailer reverse camera. Search for "DIY Trailer Wiring". There's probably an extra tip order two from the second install not documented, I think regarding the right indicator and removing the wheelarch flares. I'll have a look if I updated things.

I think MY15 onwards have a plug-in loom for the basic stop, tail and indicator connections.

I used a cordless cut out tool for the bumper modification, and made it symmetrical to fit Andersons on the left mounted to a tab the same as OEM provided for the 7 or 12 pin. The cut didn't require pinchweld to hide a nasty edge.

Cheers,
Steve

About to embark on an install for my soon to arrive MY17 TH and just received the Mopar towbar.
I can confirm that the later kits do have a plug-in loom that hooks in some of the connections although you still need to splice the turn indicators and reversing light.
Also comes with an ECU which I assume provides some isolation between the socket and car electrics. One more addition is a connector for a break controller, exposing the stop signal and the brake wire to the socket.
