Default Larger throttle body or controller for 5.7?

Come across a larger throttle body for the 5.7 and 6.1 Hemi's

I had good success on my KK changing both to a larger TB and a throttle controller.

Anyone done one or both on their WH?

Not sure you'd see much of a change with it, all the reading I've done seems to indicate that the two areas where the most gains are to be had are the headers/extractors (which are very restrictive) and the camshaft. If you are after responsiveness / throttle mapping I'd suggest looking into a tuner as that makes a big difference to the 'feel' of the car but I doubt it actually makes any difference to the power.

I wouldn't bother with the throttle controller. Having driven 2008 WH 5.7 (which I believe your doner setup was from) the throttle response is plenty good enough already, just my opinion though. Some people love having snappy throttle response or maybe you want to slow the throttle response down for slow offroad situations... ��**♂️

Don't get me wrong I am a believer in the throttle controllers, have fitted them to 3 different vehicles with good results (and 1 vehicle with terrible results), I just don't think its necessary for the Hemi/545RFE combo.

I too fitted a RAM 1500 4.7 throttle body to my previous KK 3.7, it was a solid improvement in high rpm power and a slight increase in overall fuel economy. Based on that experience, I wouldn't hesitate in fitting a larger TB to a 5.7 Hemi.

Thanks for the feed back.
When I test drove the donor around the block before pulling it down, I was a bit disappointed in its response.
I'll wait and see what it is like now after the long tube headers, twin 3" exhaust and 400kg less weight!

Agree that stock response is woeful, but I believe it's the standard gearbox map - they're mapped for maximum economy and drive very lethargically.

I put a Superchips tuner on mine, and the gearbox map is much 'sportier'. Responsive, holds gears longer, kicks down quicker, totally transformed how it drives.

Even on a stock engine, a basic gearbox tune should be #1 on the mods list!
