Yeah that’s the stage I’m at, just looking at brand and who might do the work.

A sprintex or ripp supercharger kit is a$7k supplied. Fitment is meant to only be a day, but then it would require a tune.

You’re spot on about the setup, it would be mild, but something to give me more low and midrange torque. The sprintex is meant to increase torque to 500nm on a mild
Boost of around 8psi. I would be getting it tuned for drivability though, not top end power.

Ultimately even if I did blow it up in the end I still think it would be worth a shop when you consider all the risks I outlined above. The motor has been absolutely faultless since new too

I reckon there will could be a few, some need the latest model so swap every couple of years while others just do a bit cruising and its a shed pony... The current steed at 4 yrs old and 40K might just happen again, if not a V8 would do or I could step back in time to something non diesel but with some grunt, nice ride and less electronic rubbish, then again at 73 I could be knackered as well as broke......... But if I have a Win bugga the Jeep it's be a nice Chevy.

Now that's a topic to play with. My prob would be narrowing down the choice if I could have only one (win related) fantasy car!

I finally washed her after god knows how long. And I polished every piece of chrome to be as shiny as possible. Nothing as nice as shiny chrome.

1700km oil and filter change,
Throttle controller fitted.

Jury is out on the throttle controller, I find economy mode is just a little too doughie for me, and Ultimate mode is pretty much what it was anyhow. when you floor it that lag is still there you coast up to 20kmh and then it lets go. Even if you don't floor it there is that second or so as you wait for the turbo to cut in. Never had that in the old girl you pressed the pedal and it went, I expected the controller to smooth that out which it does in economy mode it will cruise up to 20 and then nothing it has taken away that turbo kick and it just feels dead. BOORRRING.
I will leave it for a few days and see if I notice any benefits or see if the wifey likes it, otherwise I will pull it back out and see if i can get my money back, plenty of other gizmos I can spend my $227 on.

I've been slack with mine over last few weeks since we had an almighty hail storm and it copped dents all over the bonnet. Luckily none on the roof (that I've noticed) and waiting for insurance mob (for car and house) as they are swamped.

Interesting about the throttle controller. What is the car you have it on now? If you're talking about TURBO lag, the throttle controller won't have any effect on it, not what it's designed for. Assume the "old girl" was the 2012 (as in your garage?) so I wonder what's happened to the later models with turbo lag now being such an issue? Maybe everything is just tight on your new car at only 1700km.

I never felt that either throttle lag or turbo lag were an issue in my 2013 but the iDrive certainly sharpened up the throttle making an amazing difference to acceleration. I've never bothered with Economy Mode, don't see the point. I find Ultimate settings 5 or 6 give best results.
