I guess when I say better. I mean better for my needs. For a raw beginner, and someone who will be doing mild type 4WD'ing, but will also use the car for the wife. Spec's don't mean alot. Just simply un-educated I guess

The cars perform exactly the same, only lift & tire size will determine the cars offroad ability...........oh, and the driver

The Limited's are the more luxurious of the models however, the advertised Extreme Sport seems to be good value for money. For touring and light duty 4x4ing they are capable, but need skid plates (underbody protection). If you ever feel the need to improve its off-roadability (ie. you get the bug), they are worthy of spending a few more $ on for lift kits and decent tyres.

WE have a 05 CRD limited (stock + sunroof and tinted windows). It drives very comfortably and very economical. (cf. my modified XJ).

Default Jeep cherokee recommendation

In my opinion I would say it is a worth while investment. I have recently purchased a limited edition 2002 Jeep Cherokee, I have taken it off road and the bug has bitten I can get enough of it. Have already fitted a OME suspension and a tyre upgrade as stock the vehicle is limited due to ground clearance. I am extremly happy with my purchase. My wife uses it during the week. We have a toddler and a small baby who are in car chairs and the car has sufficient comfort to keep the whole family happy. The lifted suspension hasnt changed the ride (want to purchase a locker next)

Nice. Thank u for your comments. I think I will be buying tomorrow, so lets hope I get a good deal. It is always a weigh up with K's v price. Do you think 90,000ks is too much for a 2003 model. Is much cheaper - about $7,000 to the lower Ks'd variety.

When was the 2.8TD offered?
When was the 2.4TD discontinued?

Maybe it's worth paying a bit more for the 2.8?

90000 kM NO PROBLEM FOR A CRD kJ.
JUST GET THE TIMMING BELT AND RELATED PULLYS REPLACED ON THE DEAL AS THIS IS COSTLY EXERCISE AND GETS DONE @ +/-98000kM. IF NOT REPLACE IT WILL CAUSE MAJOR DAMAGE.
