Maybe get a heap of those $30 solar sensor lights from bunnings, i've got a couple. Free power, install anywhere, and not very bright so won't disturb the neighbours

cheers

Steve,

Just keep a baseball and glove next to the batt!! Otherwise the batt is pre-meditated! (yeah I know...damn right its pre-meditated)

I was advised by a mate who is an officer that when you pick up the closest object in the hallway to protect your family from these violent intruders...the batt was just laying there from the weekend...next to the ball and glove!!

Additionally hit them ANYwhere but the head and there isnt a court in Aust that will convict you of anything defending your family, and remember this phrase, you feared for their lives.....me personally....dead men dont litigate or re-offend!!

My dog is a RottyXEnglish Mastiff and weighs 75kgs..but the next door neighbours mutt would scare more away than him...its 1kg Maltise Shit of a dog! Any dog is better than none.

Again sorry to hear of your trouble and good luck with it in the future.

Matt.

Sensor lights and a dog.
Dog is the first thing they will look for.
You don't need a noisey dog just a yapper.
Sensor lights will make them think twice.
Alarm and stickers will make them think three times.
If they do still come, they will either be desperate or more likely one of your kids has woken you up.
It is a pitty you now feel threatened in your own home. Don't worry to much about them being a major threat to you and the kids, obviously they were just looking for easy stuff to nick and sell quick.
It is a pain as you feel violated and not aware of it.
Be carefull if you beat someone with a bat. They are someones kid who has gone down the wrong track, you won't want that on your conscience.
Sort the window.

We're all somebodys kids but unfortunately for anyone that comes into my house, and gets caught, mine are more important to me and my conscience will be fine with that. As an aside I don't feel threatened, I feel concerned and pissed that my wife no longer feels safe in our home. No doubt that'll improve over time though.

Anyway, like I said, sensor lights are up, picture a jail break scene from a movie for an idea of what the outside of my house is now like The window was fixed and additional locks added just in case the same day.

Cheers
Steve

Only trouble with those solar lights is they usually go flat before midnight and also the bastards keep stealing them anyway.

Most dogs are good, you don't need a "hound of hell", quite often even the most docile family Labrador will see someone off the property by bark alone when they think they are up to something in the dogs territory or it's pack(family) is threatened.
