Apparently there is a 10,000km test going on somewhere with the new fix kit installed and that appears to be the holdup, but they are getting very close to completing it. Fingers crossed but it might be only a couple of weeks away and I will get the green light to fix it.

Yeah well and good mate, I would have thought a handful of washers and a torque wrench would have the desired result.

Maybe, we will know if/when someone takes a look at one of the updated units.

I wouldn't be surprised if the bolts coming loose is a symptom rather than the cause of the actual issue.

You could be right mate. Might well be soft steel used in the tow bar itself.

I agree but because there is an official recall on the towbar it must be removed or fixed by Jeep to keep it all legal. Otherwise there would be issues if a "home fix" failed in an accident i assume.

Got the replacement done today. That was the easy part, hopefully get a refund soon.
There is still no confirmed timeframe for a fix, which is a worry. Glad I did it. Out of pocket $800 though for the short term.

Is there any way a group claim or class action could be taken. I seem to have purchased a vehicle with a zero towing capacity
