Managed to pick up a Genuine Jeep trailer bar (rated to 2800 kg) for 140 on eBay in almost new condition. Will be interesting if they replace this with a new Mopar trailer bar.

So, took the KJ in to the dealer for the fitting today. Took less than an hour.

Asked if I could keep the old bar, to which I got a No: they are tagged and returned to National HQ...

New bar, included the tongue and towball, and chrome cover.

I never even had a tongue for the old bar, so might get the wiring kit for it now.

Interesting design. A little more slimline then the original tow hitch. Did they provide a wiring loom with it?

Some interesting reading here. We've received the registered recall notice, but have yet to find the time to take the KJ in for inspection. Thanks for the photos of the new Mopar bars, I was worried they may not look any good, but they look fine.

See that the tag says, made in New Zealand...

No wiring loom supplied. Didn't query it....
