Marysville lake mountain big area

Went for a bit of a trip over the weekend. Scenic but very little challenging or even vaguely difficult 4wding.

Stayed at keppels hut Friday night. Very nice new clean hut. One of the best I have seen. Very cold because it is at 1400m or so. Very little firewood without a chainsaw or lots of sawing.

Looked for a spot the next night along big river. Almost every spot was taken and we were being picky. Ended up staying at Stockmans reward. Nothing amazing but not bad.

For those after a challenge I highly suggest boundary track off big river road. Rises something like 350m in 1.5 km. Pretty easy in the dry but in the wet it would be extremely dangerous and maybe even impassable. I have done it on a bike when really muddy and it was a challenge.

A few decent trees down on tracks. Axe and bow saw got the job down.
