Amen to that. I get regularly mocked by mates who think I spend too much time and money 'over servicing', just makes me more determined. It's all good natured of course, but when we compare experiences re. engine woes, breakdowns etc I always get the last laugh

In high performance engines the oils n filters are expendable after each and every use...in extreme cases thats less than 1 minute....not really relatable to our everyday use but it does show how 'consumables' are just that....consumable.

If its like tar at that distance I doubt it was oil in the first place.... lol, lol, lol

Pulling the sump off an old truck engine thats been sitting for 30 years it was oozzy bit like treacle but not tar, that engine fired up once we added new oil and pumped some diesel through the injectors, all sorts of things ran for cover from the exhaust as it was tad smoky for a bit......

I limped home once, the old 2 stroke 8/71 was using 5 lt of oil for 45 mins driving, I would stop every 40 mins, tip a keg in then get going again, I cleaned the garage at Miles out of diesel oil kegs so I could get home, I think they said we used about 25 kegs of oil to get it home, they rebuilt the engine, so it threw a leg properly the week after....lol,lol,lol....
