Made it to Esperance today after a couple of long days on the Nullarbor.

We had a very early start from streaky bay due to the change in weather. Trying to pack up the camper trailer, with the wind blowing and watching the lightning at midnight was different and definitely not in the original plan. But it did give us an early start. Unfortunately missed some of the places we wanted to see as it was dark, so we will have to see on our way back.

Fuel (premium unleaded) was around $1.96 at border village, caiguna roadhouse and balladonia. Eucla had the cheapest fuel on the nullarbor. But must recommend Caiguna Road House , they make the best burgers and bacon and eggs!

Also hi to the guy in the green jk heading east who gave us the thumbs up. The wife was driving with one of our kids in the front passenger seat. i was (resting) watching a movie in the back. not sure if they waved, but i was waving a bag of chips in the back as my salute

Er ... the big gular (galah) is at Kimba, not Kadina. Kimba has the most expensive fuel on the Eyre Peninsula. Grew up not far from Streaky Bay.... the mackerel sky photos r awesome. The wind there can be unpredictable and very cold, coming from the southern ocean. Good fishing, but. I remember Caiguna. Camped there overnite and celebrated my wife's birthday. The most massive chicken and chips on a plate you could get. While there, celebrated with a crop duster pilot on his way home after finishing a job.

Karijini NP is spectacular and worth a few days to explore. I stayed at Mount Tom Price Caravan Park and did day trips from there. Exmouth... no free camping there... the caravan park owners patrol and send out the council people to move u on or fine u. One way of them getting money I guess. The parks r always pretty much booked out in peak season... nowish and on...

Awesome day today exploring Esperance. Started with a suprise 4WD track up and onto sand dunes. Checked out the Pink Lake and some of the Lagoons and amazing coast before heading to Australia 's very own Stone hedge.

Then to Cape Le Grand National Park to see Lucky Bay. Flicked a lure and picked up a personal best salmon. While i was up for fresh fish, the wife, kids and on lookers got their wish and we released it after removing our lure and someone elses hook.

We can definitely see why people call it a hidden treasure. Kadence is keen to move here.

Also you can camp at Lucky Bay and Le Grand Beach (le grand national park). LBau has good clean modern (assume chemical) long drop toilets, communal camp kitchen and lots of spots and of course the amazing lucky bay.

LGrand had flushing toilets and hot showers. The beach was nice but no lucky bay

As its a national park, you will need a parks pass and camping permit

Today we explored around Albany (WA). Noticed a nice lifted/big silver JKU in town befor tackling the Granite Skywalk (2 hour return walk), then The Gap and The Nature Bridge. These were amazing with the power of the waves sounding like thunder. Then a quick stop at The Blow Hole. Had a good laugh watching the reactions on unsuspecting tourists (and and my daughter's)
