Default Fixing a tapered hole...

Is it possible to repair a tapered hole that has been drilled straight?
I had to drill out my tapered 9/16" hole that my panhard rod mounted to the frame with (TJ) to a straight 9/16" to mount a drop bracket.
Now I need to replace it with an adjustable panhard rod, but it wont securely mount to the untapered hole.
Is the hole able to be fixed? I have no idea about welding/fabrication...can it be filled with weld, and redrilled?
And more importantly, can anyone rec someone in Brisbane to do it?

my suggestion is to make a "tophat bush" and mount this into the frame
(a bush with tapered hole in it locating flange on 1 end this lines all up square and give land for a good fillt weld)

They are called tapered inserts. I used them when i did my OTK or over the knuckle steering conversion and the links for them are on that write up.
So are you saying you had a mount that droped the panhard rod at the frame end? Was this to match a dropped pitman arm? Have you any photos of this bracket?

This is the relocation bracket...
For who nows what reason, rather then just have a bolt on drop bracket, pro comp went with this multi jointed creature. It mounts to the other side of the chassis via those rods with heim joints at each end.
Why it didnt just incl a standard adjustable panhartd bar I dont know, seems like with all these joints, it just gives it more "failure" points, and I am sure this is the cause of my death wobbles, having checked all the usual suspects
I have a drop pitman arm on now, but am going ot go back a stock arm and hopefully get an adjustable panhard bar to mount to the original hole.
Where would I go to get one of those sleeves welded in?

that part on the chassis is the same part which is flogged out on my car.
the people whom installed the loft didnt actually tell me they needed to drill it out though
only that it flogged itself out ..

cannibal if you find anyone to repair it please let me know.

Will do mate, best value replacement adjustable panhard seems to be from whiteline (http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/....php?t=59578-), about $250 vs $400+. Put that on with the stock pitman arm...
Thats the easy part though...dam hole...
