Been chasing Death Wobble causes for a little while now. Drilled some steel plate and had it welded to the outside of the trackbar mounts on both exteriors of the axle and frame side (thank you, new girlfriends' Dad! ) seeing as those holes were pretty wrecked. Cleared up a lot of the problem but did not fix it.

So then I took a look at the rod ends on the drag link and tie rod, all rooted, plenty of vertical play in every end. Little disappointed that they need to be replaced, but hey, at least I have something to blame the DW on, better than not knowing!

How does the shovel holder work on the AEV bar, what locks it in and what stops it from rattling loose? Any pics would be great?

Awesome, someone else got the same antenna as I lol I'm aiming to put mine on the back where the spare is so when I drive through uhh "stuff" it doesn't get too abused - does your wobble around a lot?

Yeah, took it out for a drive...has a bit of vibration at various speeds....I think due to the centre wound design with the thin whip top.
I have a high db stubby top that came with the main antenna - I'll bet that doesn't move around anywhere near as much....not that its a lot of vibration, but you can see it.
A rear mount wouldn't be bad with this antenna, with our plastic roof not blanking it like other model 4WDs would.

Good question -- the first shovel I got was slightly tapered - short at the handle end and thicker towards the shovel head. As you insert it and it gets closer to the tapered end, it simply locks from friction. The shovel just becomes too big to go any further.

This was fine but I'm a bit nit picky and the head of the shovel was a little too far down because the handle didn't get thick far enough up the handle to lock it where I wanted it.

So the second shovel I purchased looked the same thickness all the way along - and it slotted in perfect - locked higher up and locked around the handle and also at the base because it was the same thickness all the way along, the end actually stops at the section of the bar that channels downward. Fits perfect.

I'd say just try a few shovels before purchasing.

The other problem the first one had was that it was too long so when you opened the door, you couldn't open it all the way without the shovel base crunching the body.

New shovel stops at the downward section of the carrier though as mentioned so no need to shorten it down - I was going to do this on the first shovel to make do but it annoyed me - the thought of having a shovel that wasn't full length would've pissed me off since the carrier is capable of it when you find the right shovel.

Will snap some pic's tomorrow morning for ya.
