Default My j20

Just testing my computer skills, here is my Aussie built 1985 J20, 360 auto.

These photos were taken about two years ago. I have owned it since 2000 and has been off the road since 2006, I just got it back on the road a few days before Xmas 2014. It is 99% stock an unrestored with 416,341kms on the clock as of this afternoon.

Does have the incorrect grill, have the correct one coming soon when I be picking up 3 FSJ wagons parts cars. Some minor changes only like a Rambler sports steering wheel fitted as the stock plastic version was badly cracked, Cherokee pull handles and bucket seats and a factory am/fm/cb radio fitted. It runs on straight LPG system with dedicated gas carby and twin tanks holding a combined total of 180 litres.

Steel frame and wooden tray was fitted when new. More work is planned in the next few months including restoring the tray with new wood and repainting the frame, restore the rear mudguards, paint the chassis, repair minor rust in the roof, repaint left front gaurd, fit the screen and rubber, new carpet, new tyres on all corners, restore the original Jeep mudflaps and much more. Im hoping to attend the classic not plastic Jeep event this year. I hope you like.

That's nice. I like it. Interesting colour combo, but it seems to work...

cheers

Yeah "interesting" for 1985. If it was 70's wouldn't blink but then again I guess 80's CJ/J series never really evolved much from the 70's.

Yes it is an unusual colour scheme. The colours must have been specially ordered new like this as it has never been restored. Being an Aussie built truck, I guess many other trucks we're ordered with "company" colours and painted accordingly. With this truck, luckily a sticker is still attached to the firewall reading Kempsey Orange. Only history I have is that it was a traded in vehicle in 1999 and ended up at my work, Auto Auctions in Guildford NSW. This is when I purchased it. The NSW number plates were original until recently. Does anyone know of more info about J20's in Australia and how many we're assembled?

Very cool. I especially like the bull bar / brush guard on the front. That is a striking color as well. I'll have to remember that Kempsey Orange.
