I picked one of these up on ebay for just over $5000. I junked the box on the front and got an aluminium box made like the one on the front of the Kimberley Kamper.
I was able to get mine for just on $7K on ebay before I started doing mods. It came with a lockable aluminium front box. Since then I've added twin batteries, a battery charger, solar panels, an inverter and extra 12V outlets.
Another option, i found a ex rental 2005 Cub Escape Camper on road great inside just a little rough on the outside and got it for $8K (good private ones go for about $12-13K) and have spent about $5K on it to make it what i wanted. So for $13K i've got what Cub would want $20K+ for.

Have done new axel, springs (under slung total of 8" lift over standard) shocks, fitted over ride disc brakes, 15" wheels with Cooper AT3's, strenthend draw bar and relocated spare tyre under rear, had a large alloy checkerplate box made, divided with side door for fridge with slide, 70amp battery with 20 watt solar panel, solar vent, and room in the box for Gennie and fuel.
And with everything in and on the camper i can tow it with the TJ and not have to worry about were everythings going to go.
Looks good; also see you cart a hobie around with you. We've been taking ours with us for years now; we try and match offroading with good places to kayak.

Thanks, We have only had the Hobie for about 6 months so it's all a bit new to us, but it's great fun and i could do with the exercise.
Ok had a slight water leak in the sink and had to do some drastic repair work. I had to renove the sink, cut out the silicon seal and unscrew the mounts. The fault, the tap was leaking on the joint due to movement. I found they had incorporated 4 washers to allow the tap to swivel but once tightened down the tap would undo at the thread rather than turn on the washers. I used thread tape to creat a seal so the tap is tight enough to be stable but could still turn. I also greased between the washers. I resprayed under the sink with a rust protection paint and sprayed lanolin oil into areas where paint can't be effectively sprayed. Doesn't smell as bad as fishoil.
Another cheap hardfloor for those in Brissy and Sydney. www.camptime.com.au I had a look at one today, nice looking trailer but quality of fit and finish shows you get what you pay for. Still, not too bad with a good list of standard features.
Just bought a length of led tape. Cut it in half and soldered a 12v power to the first half to act as an internal light bar. May just hang it down a wall, haven't quite decided on the mount yet. The other half need a 12 volt extension cable and will supply light for the kitchen.
Took it out to Barmera a couple of weekends ago. Good news LED lights worked great...bad news broke a stabiliser leg. It was a pin that held the inner threads to the drive. Took it apart and will look at a replacement pin this weekend.
