Default Blown up my CRD

I was out back of Roma in QLD yesterday sitting on 130km's /hr when I lost power and noticed smoke out the back mirror.

Had to have it towed back to a dealer in Toowoomba who told me the bad news that I have failed a compression test on two cylinders.

She is on her way back to my dealer at Mansfield to see what can be done.

I have to pay for the engine strip down and will look at what caused her to blow up before taking on Chrysler for full claim.

She only had 110,000km on the clock so she is just out of warranty.

For all the times I have had false alarms with “engine management” and “service 4wd system” the time I needed engine management she let me down. I had not one alarm come on even after my engine died.

I'll keep you informed on proceedings.
Jenko

do you know what the 'service 4wd system' means? I get it in low range. I'm guessing it has something to do with the sensors that tell the little console display which wheel is spinning etc

not good news man mine has 120000kms and just had fuel clips break from the filter to the pump at the front of the cylinder head but I think the mechanic broke the clips that hold them on at the last service 2000k's ago and they finally let go and I couldn't get them to seal again so she was towed back to Waneroo Jeep where it was serviced and I am waiting for them to try and weazel their way outa all resposibillity as it has only ever been serviced there and was bought new from there this will be fun to see them try !!!

The service 4wd system light is covered by a TSB and is fixed by the dealer under warranty. It was a reflash of the drivetrain and also tightening of some of the connections to the gearbox/transfercase,

Jenko hope the verdic is good for you with the engine.
