Default 12v Socket in Rear

I got me a 07 JKU - need a 12v socket in the back just because.
Should I just buy and extension and plug it into the existing sockets in the front?
OR
Run a new cable from the battery to the rear?

Anyone done this - how did you run the cables - any pictures?

Thanks all!

Depends what you intend to use it for. If you are charging a phone or something similar an extension will be easiest. I have run a fridge off it and it worked ok. It is quite easy to feed a cable through from the battery to the rear.

If it's for a fridge I would run a new cable. There is a rubber grommet on the firewall on the passenger side. I pushed a cable through there and into the footwell. From there its easy to remove plastic panels and run it to the rear.

Yeah definitely run a new cable for a fridge. You want it to be decent gauge as well so you don't get too much voltage drop. Fridges don't do very well with inadequate wiring and voltage drop.

Run some 6mm thru behind the drivers side dash. Just pop off the panel that's against the door and you'll find the easiest place to run it. And don't forget a fuse near the battery.
