I had a new actuator installed today in Hervey Bay and they also carried out the re flash according to the bulletin and removed all error codes.
I was not charged for the service so hopefully the problem is now solved. I was also told by the service manager that there is a recall pending regarding the ignition switch but I and others will be sent a letter regarding the re call when Jeep has the parts to fix it. I told him that there was not a problem with the ignition switch at the moment.

Regards Chris.

As one of the few WH owners who has instigated legal action over the N23 debacle and had success plus monetary recompense(not enough) I will again offer this advice.
1.Record date and time (name of person) all phone calls emails trip to dealers etc.email dealer back re your conversations as a record. Also keep a record of out of pocket expenses up to date
2.If what you have said is correct and both dealer and FC deny any knowledge of service bulletins etc etc immediately send a letter of demand (write it yourself and it will not cost you anything)to both the dealer and FC stating you want the low 4x4 problem fixed in 14 days or legal action will be instigated.(service manager got a bit of a shock in my case.!!)Register the letters if posted.(FC correct respondents name to address letter is Chrysler Australia Pty Ltd.in Melbourne)
3.If you go to local Fair trading do a time line of all trips to dealers, expenses incurred .If anybody wants a copy of my
letters email me on lizbaz10@gmail.com
4.The N23 recall was/is a US gov mandated worldwide safety related recall involving nearly 500000 GCs and Commanders.
5.I think you should phone Craig or Ozjeepster at Coffs Jeep they would at least confirm that the Jeep dealers and FC are well aware of this N23 problem!!

Default N23 Gremlin solution - agreed at last!

Customer Services called today to say I should take my GC back to the dealer, who has agreed to do the latest TCM re-flash. Called the dealer and scheduled the job. Hopefully this will be the end of the matter.

I understand the TCM must be flashed with the latest software and the fault codes cleared exactly according to the latest Help instructions in wiTECH. Then there will be no further "Service 4WD System" alarms unless there is a fault in the actuator or elsewhere in the circuit. I can't help pondering why it was hard to get to this point. It seems only a few people at the pointy end know their stuff. The rest seem to be intent on fobbing-off any vexatious whining customer to enjoy jollier activities. I hope the memories of 14 months frustration will soon be replaced by those of frolicking through the rough again with my faithful Grand Cherokee.

Thanks to BJM and Ozjeepster for your help.

Don't ask FC Australia for technical help..They are only distributors so anything like this goes back to the US..I haven't been able to get past the front desk at FC Melbourne so what chance have we here in Australia??

Anyway a Mate had his latest update and it fixed the problem but he'd had enough so went out and bought a BT50..He's totally off Jeeps...This whole fiasco has done nothing for the Jeep brand with all the fobbing off, denials and then 3 years later what appears to be a final fix..Touch wood.
