Default 31" tyres - speedo correction

Hey all ive just fitted some 31's to my XJ and obviously the speedo is going to be out, as a temp measure can anyone tell me what their speedo is out by ? i went thru a camera lastnight and shat as i didnt know what speed i was doing (didnt get flashed)

ive been staying (or been aware) 10kms below the posted speed just to be on the safe side.

ive heard you can buy a correction gear(?) from jeep or elsewhere - can anyone give me more info on this ?

thanks

yeah your speedo will be out by 10%... and have a read here:

and of gojeeps web site:

http://www.go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoSpeedoGears.htm

they should be available at most aftermarket jeep stores

Default Speedo correction

Yeah mate you will be out by 10%. So at 100k's you will really be doing 110, I have a set of 31" on my XJ.
As for the speedo correction gear I used to even have the part number but that is now lost, give Hammond's a call from memory around the $110 mark - I never bothered as I bought a GPS which tells me how fast I am going

You can also get an electronic corrector from Jaycar as a kit, handy if you plan to go up a size later or want to get it spot on.

Cheers
