Default Map Updates for GPS on Uconnect

Does anyone know how you get the map updates for the GPS on the Uconnect as I was trying to enter my home address in it and it does not exist. I have been in my house for nearly 2 years and it shows on Google Maps so thought maybe it needed updating. I went on the website it told me and that told me to go back to the dealer.

There's an update coming for all RHP nav unit owners.

Can't say how far away it will be as they are doing it by model series and starting of with the early WK Grand Cherokee's that have the RHP then moving through the rest of the range.

I'd say it will be a few months, but at least it will be free.

No point ringing or even contacting you local dealership at this time as 99% of them won't even know about it yet.

Thank you for your reply. I have the RHP model and I have a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Overland. How did you find out there were updates is there a way of contacting Uconnect directly. The only details I can find are for the US.

my mate had map problem for his 2008 model jk as well. Appearantly Jeep wouldn't purchase Australia map update and the wholeseller couldn't sell directly to public (he told me). End up buying a $100 garmin with 4 map updates/year.

Default Map Updates for GPS on Uconnect

This has been ongoing for sometime. I bought mine in 2011 with the promise of new maps within a few months. They have been been updated or available since. There has been one or two software updates which fixed Bluetooth issues with the iPhone 5 but no maps.
We were in nsw late last year and just for fun plotted a route to Bathurst. Had I followed it we would have done 600+ kms for about 120kms and I even gave it a chance to reroute on the fly and for over 150kms it told me to turn around !!!!
It is certainly one of the most expensive bad decisions I have made and it's not one I will ever make again. I too have a separate GPS with lifetime updates as I have give up even trying to bother with it

Hi Cathy,
I have a 2015 JK Overland with dangerously outdated mapping. My Jeep main dealer informs me that it is a customer responsibility to update. I have not yet found a way of accessing any updated maps for the vehicle's system. I use a separate Tom Tom or Sygic device. Manufacturers should drop providing navigation systems if they cannot be easily updated by users. Did you find a way to update yours? Thanks. David

I rang my local Jeep dealer today re: updated maps for my 2014 JGC.
No updates as yet. Rather pathetic I feel.
I have a fast track freeway near me that opened 3 years ago that my GPS wont even take me on.....WTF?

Cheers, Craig
