Default 12 volt and cooler

I need a quick fix for a fridge/freezer in the KK. I purchased an Evacool 35 liter job that was on special at BCF. Fits just fine and is big enough for us.
Question. I have 4, or is that 5, thumbs. How can I get the fridge to work all the time without a second battery. Keeping in mind that the cig lighter/12 volt outlet only works with the key in and on. I'm off overseas for a few months and wont be back until Christmas so I need just a quick and dirty fix!! Something that will work overnight and for an hour two during the day when the KK is not being driven.
And could someone recommend someone on the Gold Coast who I can trust to install a better system when I get back.

regards

Thumper Pack
I bought one of these over 10 years ago and use it as a mobile dual battery system. Plug my fridge and camp lighting into it and then plug the thumper into the vehicles 12v plug. That way when the ignition is off, the fridge etc draw off the battery pack and everything charges up when the vehicle is run again.

Being partable you can lift it out to put in tents, picnic etc but also move it to another vehicle (boat) etc if required. Also perfect for jumpstarting others vehicles, you dont have to hook up vehicle to vehicle jumper leads and ever risk spiking anyones ECM etc.

Worked so well I have never installed a dual battery system in any of my 4wds yet despite owning two systems in the the shed, DBS and Cetek dc-dc.

Matt.
ps. you can make your own version of this with the supercheap alternative... Ark Battery Box and throw a sealed VRLA or AGM battery in there!

Rays out doors sells the ark systems for around 500 bucks... Bit pricey, I just bought the components they use in their system and made my own battery box..

Default Dirtiest and Cheapest

I'm running a 35l fridege off of a super cheap auto 1900A jumpstarter. It runs the fridge for around 40-48 hours and cost $125 in the sale.

Run this off of the cig output. One downside is that it alarms when its running down. I will disconnect the sounder before our next trip as its OK in the car but can't be left in the tent!

You need one of these then. http://www.waeco.com.au/products5.as...Id=78&catId=77 I ran my 50L Waeco overnight using this in my car with no battery probs for about 4 years before I bought a thumper. Still use it for charging the Thumper now.

I have the same purple 1900amp from Supercheap. Runs my Waeco CFX-50 fridge freezer for up to 40 hours in the middle of summer.

They're nothing exciting, but thy're cheap and they work.

Only other thing would be an outlet in the rear of the KK wired directly from the battery. If using this method I would personally get an Optima yellow D34.
