Default KJ Cherokee Red River Sports info
Does anyone know if the Cherokee KJ has a power amp in it (factory) and what would be the biggest chunkiest tyres I can fit on the rims? It has 16" rims. Tyres still have a few thousand k,s on them but as soon a they are out of RWC I want to put some nice big tyres on.

Have you got a suspension lift? Without one you are definitely limited as regards larger tyres. A 2" lift will allow you to run 245/75R16 without a problem except for (possibly) some rubbing on the pinch weld at the rear of the front arches. Anything much bigger than that will require major modifications. Hopefully Cmohr will be able to make more definitive statements.

Why do you want "big chunky" tyres? For offroad ability or cosmetic appeal?

You could upsize to the 245/75/17.

Kj rims 5 spoke 16" standard for Sports,Renegade
6 spoke 17" standard for Limited

red river edition is an 03 sport with renegade flares and graphite grille and renegade seats


245/70R16 is max tyre size you can fit unlifted

no preamp
