Just came back from the beach. All good. Outside temp a cool 32 deg. Temp stayed at normal for a while then slowly crept up until the first electric fan cut in. 10 mins later when the sand got boggier, the A/C fan cut in and the temp stayed there untill I got back onto the road, then the temp went back to normal as expected. I'm happy now. Now to work on the triple fan setup.

I also have a 1995 xj sport with a genuine 335,000 km's and the water pump is the original jeep one. I have had no overheating problems at all and the original radiator has only just been replace due to a failed tank but the cooling system on this jeep has always been well maintained very year to 18 months and most of all checked for stray current. It also has just the jeep belt driven fan that locks when needed and pulls a very good amount air. The standard jeep stuff has worked well on this one.

Hey Nakkas.. I know you're in the middle of the LS1 swap, but how did you go in the end with this on the 4.0L?

Did the holes in the stock thermostat keep everything stable? And did you have a trans temp gauge? Any noticeable difference in trans fluid temp after the EWP was fitted?

The EWP worked well with the 4.0 Six ( Sounds terrible, six) I had to use the thermostat as the EWP was working too well. It may have been to big for the engine. There is a smaller one as an option. I have it installed with the V8 but haven't given it a workout yet. I didn't notice any changes in the tranny temps, but the temps never went over 95 C on the tranny or the engine. Tranny temps were usually around 70 C on a long run and 90 C around town in stop start situations. The best thing aout the EWP is that is flows the corrent amount of coolant whether the engine is on or not, or idling or reving. IF the engine got hot, I can switch it off and the coolant still circulates. Also when I stop the engine, the EWP operates for 2 minutes. The EWP also controls the fans when needed.
