Default 2008 2.8L Engine Making Whining Noise when Accelerating

Hi.

I have a 2008 JK 2.8L Turbo Diesel and it has started making a whining/high pitched whistling noise when I accelerate (2000rpm+).

I have copied a link to an audio file of the noise below. The noise is much louder from outside the car.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mrD...ew?usp=sharing

It sounds like the noise has been getting worse.

Thank you in advance for any views on what could be causing this.

You have a leak from your turbo to the engine intake....check all hoses/pipes and fittings from the turbo and intercooler to the intake....can use smoke...dye...soapy water...or a simple visual check

Had this also but only very slight, just needed one of the steel clips a little tighter.
Replaced the rubber hoses with silicone ones after getting a little paranoid reading about some splitting. Got some improvement in performance as they don't expand like the rubber ones do.

So I checked the hoses to the turbocharger intake and found that one of the hose clips had worn through the hose.

Once this was fixed the sound was gone and engine sounded normal again.

Thanks for the information!
