Default Another 1uz conversion

Hey guys im new to the forum. My name is luke and im from north qld. I bought my xj about a year ago for about $200 and had it registered soon after. Im starting to get bored with the power and lack of fuel economy from the tired i6 so my plan is to buy my mates soarer and strip the engine and place it into the jeep. I have read alot of other guys tried this but have only seen a few actually complete it. I also have a budget so 99% of the work will be done by myself. I have done 1uz conversions to supras and other conversions befor so lets see how we go. Starting pics to follow

Welcome to the forum Luke.
Us XJ guys usually hang out in the "what did you do to your XJ today" section. Ask us anything XJ as we are all passionate XJ enthusiasts. It's kinda sick. Go to forum index and scroll down to XJ/MJ drivers. Scroll down from there to "what did you do to your XJ today" and that's where we usually hang out.
When you start your project, start a build thread right here.
Good luck with it mate.

Welcome!

On this site there aren't too many engine swaps. Not really advocation for NAXJA (yes, I'm American, however I prefer this forum) but those crazy Mericans love to swap motors in XJs. I've seen Chevy V6 swaps, and one guy is about to finish up a 6.0 LS swap. I know the laws are probably completely different, but it might give you a good idea on the direction you want to head.

Welcome. There was one done in WA a couple of years back I believe. Build thread might be on here somewhere?
One thing I do recall though is that the torque is more usable in the stock straight 6, especially off road. V8 power is a little better though.
