From what I have read the AEV one plumbs straight into the existing intake port at the air box and you can either cut the bonnet or buy the AEV one with the cut out already there. This is for the CRD but you get the gist.

Yep you are right it uses the std airbox and they say RHD compatable.

Also whats the differance between cutting the bonnet or drilling the side of your car? At least the bonnet is easy to replace..

I think you can also put on the optional safari ram type as well.

I like it, especially the fact it sits straight in the turbo intake on the crd...
That UFO thing on top is so snow or rain doesnt get in there like other fwd facing snorkels...

Dunno, i like all the AEV stuff...personal preferance i suppose..

ksk - just for your info... the safari snorkel has a water trap in it to stop rain making it to the air box. If thats an option then I'd go for this snorkel, otherwise frankly the ufo filter look cheap like the 1980's landcruiser style ARB snorkels...

KSK
canister on top is a dust separator...there's vanes around bottom side that make air 'cyclone'..solids ( dust ) are thrown outwards and stay in bowl...intake air goes down the centre...perfectly practical but ugly...used mostly on agricultral machines...
