Nothing wrong with the front diff...the are still TJ's running around with D30's on 35's still going strong. The JK's D30 is actually stronger...

I've heard of a few of the d35s blowing front unis but not the d30s homedg has done 2
remember if it is auto its a d35 the manual runs the d30 and it seems to mostly be the autos that are doing it (when there not catching fire )

That was the source, thought it would be inconclusive. Apparently cause they have a high pinion they dont get enough oil.

D35 is a rear only diff......

There are so many differences between the TJ & JK Dana30 taht you can't compare them fairly. And whilst on paper the JK D30 SHOULD be stronger there are a few elements (eg width) that count against it.

True. But having said that I have seen more JK's blow unis than I have TJ's...... Now consider how many TJ's are out there, many with large tyres and quite a few miles under their belt......yet I've seen more JK unis blown (which usually destroy the axle shaft) - go figure huh.....

That seems extremely odd, I have never come across a Dana 35 in the front. I have googled and searched jeep.com but can't find something similar to what Austrlian Jeep says.

This is what Jeep NZ says:

I think they have the front and rear mixed up on the Australia site.
