I'd have to agree. I lifted my old GQ Patrol the 'normal OME' way ie 2" lift, shocks and Springs only. I thought it was ok.

That's until I did a complete lift on my JK. 3.5" Springs, Long Travel Shocks, Lower Control Arms, Adjustable Panhard Rod (Front), Panhard Relocation (rear), Bump Stop Extensions, Front Swaybar Disconnects, Rear Swaybar Extended Links. It's seriously better than factory ride and handles brilliently on and offroad.

I will NEVER do a springs and shocks only lift again!

Default OME v's Rancho

Hi guys, when we are talking about OME, are we only speaking about their shocks, or their springs as well. I do agree that their shocks are good touring shocks, are made well, but are overpriced, to short for off road and yellow. What are the opinions on their springs, eg using the OME springs with Rancho shocks.
Thanks
Tom

I think the springs are okay but the shocks OME supply are crap and the rear trackbar relocation bracket is a waste of time if you do any serious offroading. I have changed my springs to a progressive type which are longer with a slightly higher lift which suits my type of driving I do, its a much smoother ride to the 7-11 or Hyperdome now .

I cannot comment about using OME springs with Rancho shocks I know others have this setup though.

rossj,
which lift did you get? Sounds like you got a good result.

AEV high steer kit with Poly Performance shocks and springs, bumpstops and extended brakelines. Very happy with it on and offroad, little too much rake for me(like factory) but that will change when I get a rear steel bar on. BTW because of the lift and flex my front driveshaft CV joint seal blew, my new driveshaft arrived today.
