Tom why don't you take the guesswork out of it and go and see Brent @ wizard performance. He does custom springs for all 4wds and has done quite a number of JKs for people who have been unhappy with off the shelf solutions. Also sells procomp shocks dirt cheap and Fox (which can be valved to suit whatever your tastes may be).

Sure not as cheap as buying from the states but at least you get warranty support here in Oz.

Yom I might, but at the moment I cannot drive the Jk more than 60km/h to get to the Goldy, so need to fix that issue first. Waiting on new Panhard etc??? But, I think that might be a good idea?

Well this has gone a bit off topic to the original discussion!

But still very interesting actually so i don't mind

I test drove a wrangler again for 40 mins on saturday with the mrs, she had a bit of a drive too. Then a few minutes after that jumped straight into an SR5 hilux and drove that, i actually prefered the jeep. It's different and i like different.

Unbelievable amount of people hate the jeep though, i'm also buying a property very soon and starting to wonder if its really the right car for it.

Interesting you say that re: people hating them.

I've always noticed how the Jeep polarises some people particularly in country towns. Generally I think its more of a "oh look, its not a toyota/nissan" but often you do really get someone who takes a genuine dislike/hate/negative sentiment towards the vehicle (usually 4wds in general and fortunately Jeep represents everything greenies hate about 4wds in particular). Luckily I always seem to have found myself saying hello and answering a few questions from interested locals about the vehicle who are nice and genuinely intrigued by what it is.

To build on this hate some have for it I'm thinking of getting a custom soft top made so it looks like a large american flag, a sticker down the side that says F*** THE ENVIRONMENT and I VOTED FOR KEVIN RUDD AND WOULDN'T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY.

I figure these 3 things on a Jeep would infuriate the majority of people who would otherwise be on the fence.
